The Town Mayor of Horwich visited the North West Air Ambulance base Open Day Event at their Barton base to celebrate Air Ambulance week.
The day included meeting the team, learning about the pre-hospital care the charity provides, and got the opportunity to see the helicopters before having to embark on a life saving mission.
The Town Mayor thanked the Charity for the invitation and the vital role they play every day.
Since launching in 1999, the charity has been called to over 24,500 missions across the region, with the service called out an average of three times a day. Each year they must raise over £12 million to remain operational.
