The Town Mayor Councillor Ian Aldcroft opened the new exhibition ‘Horwich at War’ at Horwich Heritage Centre commemorating 110 years since the end of WW1, 80 years since D-Day and in 2025,80 years since the end of WW2. The exhibition commemorates the sacrifices made by local armed forces and people on the “Home Front” during both conflicts, to ensure we have the freedom that we have today. It tells of the suffering and loss but also the heroism and resilience of the wartime generations.
The exhibition runs until February 2025
