Job Vacancy – Interim Assistant Town Clerk

Horwich Town Council is seeking to appoint a proactive individual to assist the Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerk with a diverse and interesting range of duties and projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council as Assistant Town Clerk on an interim basis for 12 months, with progression to the Deputy Town Clerk position.

Subject to experience pay and hours to start will be: SCP 13 – SCP 17 (£26,873 – £28,770 p.a.) pro rata, National Pay Award pending, minimum of 15 hours per week Tues/Weds/Thurs. After 12 months, this will increase to: SCP 18 – SCP 23 (£29,269 – £32,079) pro rata, National Pay Award pending, hours 30 per week

The post holder will have responsibility for communication with members of the public, community groups, as well as service providers and local authorities at all levels. They will be expected to actively promote and implement the Council’s policies and be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a small, professional and friendly team
